about

Originally recorded in 2008, THE LAMP OF THOTH took the doom metal underground by storm with their distinctively quirky and English sense of humour; the brainchild of Simon Rourke, and also featuring SOLSTICE guitarist Andy Whittaker, their live performances were legendary for being an absolute riot. This is something not usually associated with Doom metal, but adding incredibly large amounts of Whisky to certain members made every live outing unpredictable and most certainly bordering on dangerous.

These recordings were originally released on CD and vinyl by SOLSTICE guitarist, Rich Walker's MISKATONIC label and achieved cult status. Who else remembers when Ghost opened for them in Germany? We loved the Lamp, and so should you.
